If you want to cease operating as an RTO, you will need to apply to QCAA to withdraw your registration.
To withdraw your registration, you will need to use the 'Application to withdraw RTO registration' activity in the VET app on the QCAA Portal. You must include all requested information and attachments for us to assess your application.
You will be required to explain the arrangements you have made for the completion or transfer of any current students.
There are no fees for applying to withdraw your RTO registration.
Until the QCAA has approved your withdrawal application:
- your organisation will remain registered as a VET provider
- the legal requirements under the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 (NVR Act 2011) and VET Quality Framework continue to apply to your organisation.
Even after we approve your application to remove your RTO registration, you are still subject to certain obligations under the NVR Act 2011. These obligations will be explained by QCAA as part of the withdrawing registration process.
