The following information is about implementation of General (Senior External Examination (SEE)) subjects in 2024.
For information about external assessment in mainstream General and General (Extension) subjects, please visit the Senior secondary section.
The QCAA provides the following Senior External Examination resources:
- a syllabus for each subject that sets out the aims, objectives, learning experiences and assessment requirements for the subject
- subject reports that provide examination statistics and comments on overall candidate performance each year. Subject reports may include candidate responses or marking schemes
- past papers that are sample examination papers from previous years. Examination papers may vary within the requirements of the syllabus.
Note: The Queensland Languages senior syllabuses (Authority, Extension and External) are developed for second language learners. Queensland legislation does not permit differentiation of syllabuses based on language proficiency, background or heritage.
The syllabuses equate to the national designation of Continuers syllabuses, i.e. syllabuses for students who commenced learning a language in the compulsory years of schooling.
Approved syllabuses are available for use by students who may be first or second language learners, or background or heritage speakers.
