Guideline for individual learning (GIL)

The Guideline for individual learning (GIL) provides a curriculum, assessment and reporting framework for schools when developing individualised curriculum plans for senior secondary students working towards the QCIA.

Developing QCIA curriculum plans

Schools must develop and approve a curriculum plan for all QCIA-eligible students when they enter the senior phase of learning. QCIA curriculum plans must be created and approved using the tools supplied in the QCAA Portal, by the end of Term 1, Year 11.

Schools are required to select curriculum organisers, learning focuses and learning goals for their students from the GIL when they develop a Curriculum plan.

Recording curriculum plans

Schools use the Student Management application in the QCAA Portal to record curriculum plans for students when they begin Year 11.
