From 2020, the Certificate of Academic Commendation award is for students who achieve an A in at least six General subjects. The QCAA identifies recipients following finalisation of student results for certification in December.
The award winners receive a Certificate of Academic Commendation by post in January.
The names of the Certificate of Academic Commendation recipients and the subjects they studied are published with permission.
From 2014 to 2019, the award was for students who achieved Very High Achievements (VHAs) in the equivalent of at least six Authority subjects, i.e. at least 24 semesters at VHA standard.

- 2020 Year 12 graduates who received the Certificate of Academic Commendation
- 2019 Year 12 graduates who received the Certificate of Academic Commendation
- 2018 Year 12 graduates who received the Certificate of Academic Commendation
- 2017 Year 12 graduates who received the Certificate of Academic Commendation
- 2016 Year 12 graduates who received the Certificate of Academic Commendation
- 2015 Year 12 graduates who received the Certificate of Academic Commendation
