The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) is responsible for the overall management of the Australian National Assessment Program, in collaboration with representatives from all states and territories and non-government school sectors.
The QCAA is responsible for coordinating the administration, marking, and reporting of the NAPLAN tests in Queensland in accordance with nationally agreed protocols.
Principals are responsible for the professional administration of NAPLAN in schools. This includes the security and confidentiality of all test materials from the time they arrive in school until they are dispatched at the end of the test period. Students usually sit the tests in their own schools. Tests are administered by appropriate school staff.
