Dance

Overview

In dance, students will develop knowledge, understanding and skills to communicate ideas using the elements of dance, including space, time, dynamics and relationships. They will work with the body as the instrument and movement as the medium of dance, using dance composition processes to explore, organise and refine movement for choreography and performance.

This suite of five videos supports the implementation of The Australian Curriculum: Dance by providing examples of dance practices in a classroom environment.

  • Video 1 introduces the Australian Curriculum subject of Dance.
  • Video 2 provides examples of how to manage dance in a classroom environment.
  • Videos 3 and 4 provide examples of how to address the Making strand in Dance.
  • Video 5 provides examples of how to address the Responding strand in Dance.
