World War I
Description
Students research Australia's involvement in World War I and the significance of the ANZAC legend, using relevant historical sources. They develop a persuasive text (e.g. essay) about the commemoration of World War I and debates about the nature and significance of the ANZAC legend, using research skills.
Students will:
- frame a hypothesis about the significance of the ANZAC legend
- use key questions to guide their research about World War I
- locate, organise and evaluate historical sources to answer their key questions
- analyse and synthesise evidence and information from a range of sources
- develop a persuasive text (e.g. essay) of 600_800 words to support a hypothesis.
