Amendments have been made to the Essential Mathematics Applied Senior Syllabus 2019.
Syllabus objectives
The explanatory paragraph for Syllabus objective 6 has been amended for clarity.
Pedagogical and conceptual frameworks
Amendments have been made to provide further guidance.
Subject matter
Subject matter has been amended for each unit for clarity and consistency.
Units 1 and 2
Assessment guidance has been amended for clarity.
Summative internal assessment 1 (IA1): Problem-solving and modelling task
The assessment description and conditions have been amended and a 1000–word limit has been added. The instrument-specific standards have been amended for clarity and consistency.
Summative internal assessment 2 (IA2): Common internal assessment
The assessment conditions have been amended to allow the use of a wider range of technology.
Summative internal assessment 3 (IA3): Problem-solving and modelling task
The assessment description and conditions have been amended and a 1000–word limit has been added. The instrument-specific standards have been amended for clarity and consistency.
Summative internal assessment 4 (IA4): Examination
