Amendments have been made to the Biology General Senior Syllabus 2019.
Summative internal assessment 1 (IA1): Data test
Assessment objective 2 has been amended to indicate the possibility of both qualitative and quantitative responses.
The specifications of the assessment have been amended to provide clearer guidance about item types, mark allocations and conditions.
Summative internal assessment 2 (IA2): Student experiment
The instrument-specific marking guide has been amended for clarity.
Summative internal assessment 3 (IA3): Research investigation
The instrument-specific marking guide has been amended for clarity.
Summative external assessment (EA): Examination
Assessment objectives 3 and 4 have been amended to better reflect the conditions of the assessment.
The specifications of the assessment have been amended to provide clearer guidance about item types and conditions.
Glossary
Glossary definitions have been added to support changes to assessment specifications.
The Biology General Senior Syllabus 2019 (v1.2) and associated resources are available in the QCAA Portal. The syllabus is also available on the QCAA website.
