Amendments have been made to the French General Senior Syllabus 2019.
Summative internal assessment 1: Examination — short response
The conditions have been amended. The duration of this assessment is now 75–85 minutes plus 5 minutes planning.
Summative internal assessment 2: Examination — combination response
The conditions have been amended. The duration of session 1 is now 90–100 minutes plus 5 minutes planning.
Summative external assessment: Examination — combination response
The requirements for this examination have been clarified. The number of stimulus texts has been specified as three to six unseen French stimulus texts. The types of text have also been specified to include at least one written and one audio/audiovisual text. These stimulus texts need to be authentic and related to Unit 4 subject matter. The combined length of the stimulus texts is to be no more than 500–800 words in total.
In creating French texts, the examination specifications have been clarified to state: Students respond in French to unseen questions, scenarios, problems and/or French stimulus.
The length conditions have also been amended. Short answer responses in English are now 300–400 words in total. The total response in French is now 400–600 words.
Glossary
Glossary definitions for tone and visual text have been amended to further clarify these terms.
