Notice 002/18
Amendments have been made to the Engineering General Senior Syllabus 2019.
Summative internal assessment 1: Project — folio
The description of the project has been amended to better describe the requirements for the student response.
The instrument-specific marking guide has been amended, replacing ‘credible’ with ‘feasible’ to better describe evidence required.
Summative internal assessment 2: Examination
The specifications of the task have been replaced to improve useability and alignment to objectives.
Unit objectives 7 and 8 have been removed from the examination.
Amendments have been made to the instrument-specific marking guide to reflect these changes.
Summative internal assessment 3: Project — folio

The specifications of the task have been replaced to improve useability and alignment to objectives.

Subject matter
Subject matter has been modified as follows:
- Notional time allocation by topic and assessment tables have been amended to indicate that assessment is integrated within the unit.
- Clarification of formulas and symbols.
Reporting standards
A–E reporting standards have been amended to align with other subjects in the Technologies Learning Area:
- C standard: ‘adequate’ changed to ‘appropriate’ for recognition and communication; and ‘credible’ replaced with ‘feasible’.
- E standard: amended to include applicable cognitions.
Glossary
Glossary has been updated to align with other subjects in the Technologies Learning Area.
