In August 2023, the Queensland non-state schools accreditation framework review — Final Report was released. This independent report included a recommendation that the QCAA should revise the current Guidelines for educational programs for non-State schools (the Guidelines). The aims of the revision include to:
- provide clear, consistent guidance about what is required of schools under the Educational program accreditation standard
- support schools and governing bodies to achieve and maintain compliance with the Guidelines.
The QCAA’s scope of work relates specifically to writing the revised guidelines for schools’ written educational programs for Prep–Year 12. It is unrelated to all other recommendations in the review of the non-state schools accreditation framework.
While the revision is in progress, schools will continue to implement the current Guidelines.
How to provide feedback
To support the revision process, the QCAA is seeking feedback from non-state schools in two ways:
- An online survey sent to non-state school principals on Thursday 10 October 2024. The survey is open until close of business on Thursday 31 October 2024.
- Small group consultation meetings held in late October. Expressions of interest in these meetings can be made by emailing nssguidelines@qcaa.qld.edu.au.
To help inform stakeholder feedback, we have compiled a reference document outlining how the P–10 Australian Curriculum is implemented in Queensland and other states. You can find more details in the Australian Curriculum: Approaches to implementation (PDF, 259.1 KB).
